4 Marketing Trends for 2024

Tis the season. The season for trends predictions and speculation. Where is marketing going in 2024? Ultimately, none of know. But we can try our best to look ahead and plan for what’s on the horizon.

I put together 4 trends I think are worth keeping an eye on.

Before we get to the predictions, a disclaimer:

None of us can predict the twists and turns social media, marketing or our businesses will take. Business is uncertain. Social media is always changing. The future unknown. This is neither good nor bad. It just is. Like gravity. What’s coming next? All we know is that no one knows. So take what works for you, and don’t stress about the rest.

With that said, let’s get into it:

Share-ability is the gold standard

We talk a lot about the importance of engagement. We are always seeking engagement, but not all engagement is created equal. A like doesn’t mean the same thing as a comment or share. True social media engagement, such as comments and conversations on shares, can’t be bought.

In 2024 I encourage you to make shares a priority. This is a great marker for social media success.

One way to of the power of a share is to think of it as link building and authority. The more shares and engagement on those shares you have, the better the content must be – according to updated algorithm logic.

Using Threads Strategically

Meta will do what it can to push and promote Threads to ensure its success. You can see that effort with “Threads for you” recommended on Facebook and Instagram.

Threads is a good place to test content and easily repurpose content. If you are hesitant to add another channel to your efforts, think of how it can be used strategically.

It’s Time To Embrace AI

One thing that will always be true about technology is that it’s always changing. You can’t do anything to slow down technology. What you can do, is learn how to leverage it to your advantage.

I completely understand the hesitation to dive into AI, but there are ways to use it strategically and to your advantage both in your life and you business.

Authenticity First

People don’t need or want polish—they want real. Authenticity builds trust and connection with your audience. People are used to seeing user-generated content and relate to that more than traditional ads. Think about how you can apply UGC concepts to your own products/services.
